Improve cold call efficiency
Nick points out four ways to maximize your cold call connect rate:
1. Prioritize mobile and direct lines
These numbers have higher connect rates and help you skip gatekeepers.
2. Mark your tracks
Label the quality of each number (green, yellow, red) to avoid wasting time on bad numbers and track obstacles like phone trees and gatekeepers.
3. Follow the law of diminishing returns
Limit calls to a prospect to 5 times in 4 weeks and stop after 2 voicemails. Avoid persistent gatekeepers by trying different channels or calling at off-hours.
4. Prevent getting spam-tagged
Rotate your phone numbers to avoid spikes in call volumes, test new numbers to ensure they aren't marked as spam, call during business hours, and avoid repeatedly calling bad numbers.
How to become rejection-resistant
Marcus outlines his strategies on handling cold call rejections and how to bounce back quickly.
Here are his four tips to become rejection-resistant:
1. Role-play tough situations daily
Practice with a peer to prepare for objections.
2. Practice scripts out loud
Warm up before your call block by focusing on pace, inflection, tonality, and attitude.
3. Have a juicy pipeline
A full pipeline boosts confidence and makes rejection less impactful.
4. Get proper sleep and eat well
Being well-rested and healthy helps you handle rejection better.
Success tips for SDRs
Cade shares tips on how he got promoted to SR. SDR after 7 months:
Be yourself. Don't use fake personas or a "sales voice."
Just do it. Pick up the phone and make calls to connect with prospects.
Be consultative. Understand the prospect's problems and provide beneficial solutions.
Never assume. Ask questions to learn about each prospect's unique process.
