A better way to secure next steps
Rory Sadler shares how to secure a follow-up meeting without sounding pushy or vague.
↳ Stop asking weak scheduling questions
Avoid saying, "Should we schedule another call next week?"
This gives no incentive for the prospect to say yes.
If there’s no clear reason to meet, they’ll decline.
↳ How to get a yes
Pull up your calendar on the call.
Be specific about why the meeting is valuable.
Offer a time 2-3 days ahead to keep momentum.
↳ A better way to ask
"Let's map out next steps. You mentioned [pain point]. Makes sense to explore that with [relevant colleague] this Friday?"
"Based on what you shared about [challenge], we should get [technical expert] to show you how other companies solved this. They're free Friday."
↳ What to include when booking a meeting
Who needs to join.
Why they need to be there.
What value they’ll get.
When (give exact time options).
↳ What not to do
Don’t leave the call saying, "I’ll send you some times."
If the prospect has to figure out scheduling later, they might not respond.
Being direct and clear about the next steps keeps deals moving forward.
